Grant Winslow

Obituary of Grant Ledoux Winslow

Grant LeDoux Winslow was born early one Sunday morning 37 years ago in Burlington Colorado, on November 30, 1980. He was Scott and Lenora (Nonie) Winslow’s blonde hair, blue eye baby boy. He passed away June 13, 2018 in Weld County Colorado, as the victim of a traffic accident.

He is the oldest of 5 children born to Scott and Nonie Winslow. He was proud of his little sister Lydia Roxanne, he wouldn’t trade her to Grandpa Whipple for a quarter, he did almost give her away to Uncle David for a bottle of pop, but in the end decided to keep her. He wasn’t as excited when he got another baby sister Angelee Corrine, he sure wanted a little brother, but he decided we could keep her. He told Grandma “baby sisters are nice, but a baby brother would be a lot better.” A few years later his wish came true and he got his brother Dylan Scott. Oh, the plans he made for them and most of them Dylan and Grant carried out. Dylan has a scar on his lip he swears is from Grant running him over with a bike. When Grant was in high school he got his last little sister, Alana Dianne, he was very proud of her and was her fierce protector.

Grant attended elementary school in Wray Co. The family relocated to the Cope and Anton Area and he completed jr. high and high school at Arickaree School in Anton Colorado, graduating in 2000. While he was in high school he enjoyed his art classes, and he was active in FFA where he found his niche in welding, he played football and wrestled. He started working for Gary Brandt farming in his early teenage years.

He then attended NWKTC in Goodland Kansas, for welding.  He loved welding and had reached a level 6 certification, he left his mark in the welding field working for Eagle Span and Paragon Bridge Works.  He was a natural born engineer and problem solver which he carried with him always. In 2012 he decided to change career paths. He thoroughly enjoyed driving an oil truck in the oil fields. He lived and worked in North Dakota for several years where he honed his skill. He said he got tired of being cold and decided it was time to move south so he moved back to Colorado, where he also drove an oil truck.

He shared a love of music with everyone from his Grandma Whipple, who introduced him to opera and classical music, to his Dad with whom shared a love of classic rock.  Grant enjoyed listening to all kinds of music. Most recently he had attended Summer Camp a three-day music festival with his sisters in Chillicothe Illinois.  He took all his sisters and his brother to numerous concerts over the years.  He shared his love of reading with his Mom.

He is proceeded in death by his grandparents Forrest and Regina Whipple and Wilma Winslow Fadely. His cousins Loyd Whipple, Jennifer Whipple, Rick Winslow, Rod Winslow, Russ Winslow, Shawn McLaughlin, Diane Miller. His Aunts Kim Armbrister, Judy Hadley and Uncles Dennis Oldham, Clifford Whipple. Uncle Don and Aunt Elaine Winslow and Uncle Richard Winslow.

Those he leaves behind are his parents Scott and Nonie Winslow of Cope Co., His sisters Alana of Cedar City Utah, Angelee and Ernesto Diaz of Fort Collins Co., Roxanne of Austin Texas, his brother Dylan and Korie of Fort Collins Co. His Aunts and Uncles, Gladys Whipple of Goodland Ks., David and Gabi Whipple of Stratton Co., Steve and Cheryl Whipple of Burlington Co., Gerald Whipple of Limon Co., Regina Oldham of Sharon Springs Ks., Jim and Dolores Gallentine of Clayton Ks., Wayne Armbrister of Burlington Co., Mabel Kohne of Burlington Co. His cohorts in various ornery and mischievous escapades, his cousins. His many friends.
