Obituary of William L Gramm

William Lee Gramm was born to Richard L. Gramm and Elvira (Runge) Gramm on December 3, 1959. He was active as a young man in many things. He organized many things during his youth and kept himself occupied all the time. He worked for the Kit Carson County Landfill for over 25 years. He enjoyed racing and helping his niece and nephew with drag racing. Mile Nationals was a favorite for him every year. Bill was known to help people whenever he could and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. One of the family’s favorite stories of Bill is when he Doug Beeson were caught up in a blizzard in the late 70’s. They were out checking cattle and when they attempted to drive through the blizzard to get home, they ended up getting stuck in a creek bed. They began to try to walk home, but quickly realized it was a bad idea with conditions of the blizzard. They returned to the truck and hunkered down for the night. When they awoke, the truck was almost completely buried in snow. When they were finally rescued, they came to realize they were not even far from the house at all. Who doesn’t love a good “snow in” in a creek bed during a blizzard though? Bill is preceded in death by his little sister, Della Purviance and father Richard Gramm. Left to cherish his memories is his mother Elvira Gramm, brother, Dale Gramm, nephew Dustin Purviance and niece Chelsea Purviance as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Thursday January 26, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Viergutz officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Burlington, CO.
