Obituary of Bill Reese

Longtime Stratton, Colorado resident William “Bill” D. Reese passed away peacefully on June 4, 2021 at his home in Stratton. He was 76 years old. Bill was born on July 16, 1944 to Lyman W. and Betty Jean (Schultz) Reese in LaPorte, Indiana. He was the oldest of seven children born to this union. He grew up in LaPorte, Indiana and he enlisted in the United States Army. He enlisted in the United States Army on September 5, 1967 in LaPorte, Indiana. While serving he was a reconnaissance scout for the 4th Calvary during the Vietnam War. After serving, he had health issues due to agent orange. Bill was very proud of serving his country and patriotism was very important to him. Bill met and later married the love of his life Cheryl Conarty on July 9, 1970 in Goodland, Kansas. They were blessed with three children; Daisy Lynn, B.J. and Carl. He was a shop foreman for Stratton Equity Coop for thirty years. Most importantly he was a husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He took much pride in his family and his family was everything to him. He did enjoy watching sports but this did not come until after he married his wife Cheryl who was a huge sports fan. He enjoyed attending all his children and grandchildren extracurricular activities. He enjoyed going fishing with his sons, grandsons, and granddaughters, going gambling, and going to the casinos. Family was the top of list of things to do. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his five great grandsons. His sense humor, loving heart and his smile will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, his in laws Orlie and Daisy Conarty, his grandparents Pikey and Loretta Schultz, two brothers and his brother in law Earl Hedgecoke. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Cheryl of their home in Stratton, Colorado, his children Daisy Fishler of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, BJ Reese (Kelly), Carl Reese both of Burlington, Colorado, his grandchildren: Melissa (Andrew) Carson, Cody (Katie) Reese, Nick Reese (Jaylee) all of Burlington, Colorado, Sierra (Miguel) Torres of Pueblo, Colorado, Emily Fishler (Ashton Francis) of Edmond, Oklahoma, Evyn Reese of Burlington, Colorado and Wyatt Fishler of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, five great grandsons and 2 great grandsons on the way. He is also survived by two sisters, two broters, two sister in laws Margaret Hedgecoke and Marlis Hamm, numerous nieces and nephews.
