Obituary of Terry W. Smith

Terry Wayne Smith made his appearance to his family on August 22, 1964 in Burlington, Colorado. Terry was the youngest of three sons to Verlin and Marie Smith. He was welcomed home by his two older brothers Kevin and Richard. Terry passed from this earth on January 1, 2021 at UC Health Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Co. Terry entered kindergarten in Stratton, Co. and attended school in Burlington, Co., Attwood Ks. and graduated from Burlington High School in 1984. After graduation Terry moved into DDI for a short time where he and his roommate Keith Jostes began their lifetime friendship. He then moved to Yuma, Fort Morgan, Sterling and back to Fort Morgan where he had been for the last several years. He had many different jobs he enjoyed that included yard work, grounds keeping in the cemetery to his current job of janitorial work at McDonald’s. While living at ECS Group home Terry made many friends, He enjoyed many activities with his ECS Family that included watching Football games and attending the Rockies baseball games. Terry loved to go Dancing and attending different parties with his friends. He most enjoyed his family time. Phone calls to his mom and brother. Going to the park for family picnics. He loved coming home to Burlington for family visits. Often bringing his mom flowers or special gifts. Richard remembers him best as being the ornery fun-loving little brother that he was. The three of them playing Cowboys and Indians, and the teasing he would give his brothers till they would chase him. Terry accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized on November 21, 1976. Terry will be greatly missed by his family. Terry is preceded in death by his father Verlin Earl Smith (July 19,2005) His brother Kevin Earl Smith (Feb 3, 1982) of Vona Co. One niece Tamara Lynn Smith, Grand Junction, Co. Grandparents, Cornelius and Loraine Wood, Earl and Clara Smith all Burlington, Co. He is survived by his mother Amy Marie Smith of Burlington, His Brother Richard Smith, and his fiancé Lois Travis of Burlington. Nephew and wife Anthony and Nicole Smith of Bethune, Co. Sister-in-law Julia Hubbell and her family of Vona, Co. Uncle Don Wood of Troutdale, Oregon, Aunt Lela Davisson of Goodland Ks. and a host of other family and friends.
