Obituary of Kenneth P. McArthur

Kenneth Paul McArthur left us on Friday, October 2, 2020 at his home on the river bottom. He was 84 years old. He was born on December 9, 1936 to Ernest L. and Mary O. McArthur in a sod house south of Burlington. His family moved to the ranch north of Bethune in 1942 where it has been in the McArthur name ever since. In 1957, while serving in the Navy, he met his beautiful bride, Beverly. They were married on October 12, 1957, in Ithaca New York. They moved to Denver and then to California where, with his years of Naval experience, he did work with Lockheed Martin and other aeronautical companies. In 1970, he and Beverly moved back to Colorado to work the family farm and ranch. He resided there for 50 years and was still very much involved in the day to day details of the ranch. He enjoyed years of farming and was always proud of his solid red herd of cattle he built and the strong genetics that came with it. He was the proud father of three children; Patricia L., Kenneth C. (Tammie) and Elizabeth A. (Ray) Griffin. He leaves behind 2 children, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters Betty and Elaine. Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister Mary, his daughter Patricia, and his wife Beverly. Following his wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral.
