Linda was born on August 28, 1945 to Alethea Mae (Wood) and Vaughn Taylor in Goodland, Kansas.  She was one of four children born to this union; Linda, Charlene, Arthur and Verlin.

She attended school in Bethune and graduated from Bethune High School in 1963.  While attending school she enjoyed cheerleading and working at Dairy Queen in Burlington.  After high school she attended college in Greeley.  She came back from Greeley and then started a career in bookkeeping.

Linda met and later married Denzel Barnhart on February 14, 1965.  To this union two children were born; Doug and Lana.

Linda worked at Hitchcock Incorporated as a bookkeeper for many years.  Her next job was a Medical Records technician at Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital.  While working as a Medical Records Technician she went back to school to get a degree and was soon promoted to Medical Records Director.  She eventually retired from the hospital in 2002.  She took great pride in her accomplishments throughout her career.

Linda had many hobbies that brought her lots of joy in life. She enjoyed watching her children grow up and was able to spend her time at all their sporting events. She helped with 4-H projects and extracurricular activities.  She never missed one event her children and grandchildren were involved in.   Quilting and sewing were very special to her.  She quilted with the Burlington United Methodist Church ladies weekly.  Her yard, flowers and garden had to be pristine at all times. She took great pride in her yard, flowers and garden.  Some of her other hobbies were watching football and basketball on T.V. She was an avid Bronco fan, loved to read and listen to audio books, listening to Elvis, shopping with her daughter Lana, fishing and bowling.
