Obituary of Loren Keith Burd
Loren Keith Burd, 87, passed away peacefully in his sleep Aug. 24, 2018, at Valley Manor Rehab Montrose, Colorado.
He was born Jan. 7, 1931, in Goodland, Kan. to Everett and E. Grace Burd of Kanorado, Kan. where he grew up and attended school. In January, 1949, he married Deloris Pankratz. They were married 69 years and 7 months to the day.
He worked for a contractor in Longmont, Co. for a few years. In 1954 they moved to Goodland, Kan. where he worked for Chester Burd in an OK Rubber Welders shop. In 1959 they moved to Burlington, Co. and ran an OK Rubber Welders shop. After a few years he went to work for Don Herman Construction. Later he went out on his own building, etc. In 1985 they moved to Wilson, Kan. and operated an Interstate restaurant and station. After retiring they moved to Montrose, Co. in 1997.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Dwaine, Melvin and Lawrence and son Randy Sr.
He is survived by his wife Deloris, children, Monte (Vicki) Burd, Marcella (Ted) Millsap all of Montrose, Co., Robin (Mike) Adams of Greeley, Co., and sister Rowena Keck of Brush, Co.
They were blessed with 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers and plants donations in his memory may be sent to Deloris Burd, 1772 Story Lane, Montrose, CO 81403 and will be given to Montrose Fire and Ambulance Department.
