Obituary of David "Dave" E. Weber

David Eugene Weber (Dave), 62, passed away on April 2, 2018, leaving   behind a heck of a lot of stuff his wife and daughters have no idea what to do with, so if you are looking for any used vehicle parts, boats, scrap metal, trinkets, boxes of items from his weekly auction hunting, give it some time, but feel free to reach out!  However, this is not an ad for used parts, this is an obituary for a loving husband, amazing dad, adoring grandpa, caring son, best brother, hardworking, pleasing, mischievous, ornery, generous, and loving man and friend.  Dave was born tipping the scales north of 10 pounds on June 29, 1955, in Cheyenne Wells, Co to Betty Jane (Kelly) Weber and the late Edward Joseph Weber.

As a kid, Dave was a busy body, always up to something…sometimes     nothing good!  He was active in 4-H, sports, helping his dad on the farm, picking on his siblings, starting haystacks on fire, building rafts to float the creek when it rained, and making friends everywhere he went.

Dave attended Sacred Heart Catholic School through the 8^th grade before he nearly turned the nuns away from Catholicism, and then attended Cheyenne Wells High School where he graduated.  Dave ventured out for one year of post graduate school at the University of Southern Colorado-Pueblo where he studied bowling, billiards, FAC, beer making/drinking, and agriculture.  Upon returning to eastern Colorado, he met his rockstar wife, Janet (Gross) Weber, and they started their life together, marrying June 26, 1981.

In November 1981, Dave’s life changed forever when he and Jan welcomed their first little pride and joy, Josi, into the world. Josi was such a little bundle of joy, Dave and Jan decided they should have another, and welcomed their second little girl, Jessi, into the world on August 12, 1983.  They quickly decided after their second one, it would be their last! 

For the majority of Dave’s adult life, he worked for Kit Carson County in various roles and dedicated 31 years to serving and harassing the citizens.  His passion was farming and ranching which he was to spend the last couple of years tinkering around the family farm in Cheyenne Wells and working for various friends around town harvesting crops or whatever they needed.

Dave did have the pleasure of being a grandpa to Josi’s son, Daunte.  He was a PROUD grandpa and looked forward to hunting, fishing, gardening, farming, and teaching Daunte all the “boy things” to do!

Dave was preceded in death by his father and hero Ed Weber, father-in-law Willard Gross, brother Steve Weber, niece Kacey Beck, and nephew Court Will.  Dave is survived by everyone sitting here today, notably his mother Betty, wife Jan, daughters Josi (Justin) and Jessi (Ryan), grandson Daunte, siblings Mary Jane Beck, Susan (Perry) Will, Brad (Francine) Weber, niece Shawna (Keith) Petree, nephew Kris (Monica) Beck, mother-in-law Iva Gross, in-laws Jerry (Connie) Gross, Bruce (Dovie) Gross, Jeff (Diana) Gross, Jenny (Justin) Scholz, Joey (Lauri) Gross, Michael (Karen) Gross, Dovie (Jed) Warthen, Laura (Kaleb) Harting, a host of great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and an abundance of really good friends.
