Linda Poulin

Obituary of Linda L. (Mason) Poulin

Linda Lea Mason was born August 8, 1960 to Max and Jean (Smith) Mason.  She had an older brother Jim and sister Margaret to welcome her home.

Linda spent her childhood in Arriba, CO where she attended K thru 6th grade.  She was involved in 4-H and loved raising her baby lambs.  Playing in town with her friends was one of her favorite pastimes.  Younger siblings Carol (1967) and Bill joined the family (1969) and she loved and babied them just like she did her dolls.

In the summer of 1972 the family moved to Seibert, Co where Linda attended 7th thru 12th grade.  She graduated from Hi Plains High School in 1978.  During high school Linda participated in volleyball, basketball and track.  She also worked hard cleaning the Seibert Coop, waitressed, cooked and cleaned at the local café, and helped farm north of Arriba.  Baby brother Don was welcomed in the family in 1974 whom she absolutely adored.  She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a teenager.

After high school Linda attended the School of the Ozarks a Christian Liberal Arts College near Branson, MO.  Disappointed that it was not what she expected she returned home after a semester.

She soon moved to Burlington, Co where she worked at the Pizza Hut and then the Ramada Inn as the front desk receptionist.  On July 4, 1981 she married Blake Hemmert.  Blake’s job as a professional drummer took them from city to city across the country with his rock band.

When her marriage ended in 1990 Linda moved back to Denver where she had a successful stent in outside sales with the publishing firm CCH.  She also worked at the downtown Broker Restaurant.

In June of 1994, she desired a fresh start and moved herself across the country to Myrtle Beach, SC to be near the ocean.
Her stay in Myrtle Beach was brief as she soon decided to move to Miami, FL in 1996.  It was there she met and married Serge Poulin in July of 1997.

Linda had a passion for everything related to women’s beauty including skincare, hair, makeup and fashion.  She became a licensed esthetician and worked in high end salons for many years.  She then branched out into selling Talgo skincare and makeup products which required traveling all over the US.

In August of 2010 Linda’s dream to adopt came true when she and Serge traveled to China to get their precious Wu Chun Lin – Abigail Jade Poulin.  Jade was her hearts delight and she quickly made the decision to become a stay at home mom and homeschool her daughter.

Linda passed away February 23, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer.  She is survived by her husband Serge Poulin and daughter Jade, siblings Jim and Marla Mason, Margaret and Mike McPhilomy, Carol and Jeff Embrey, Bill and Orfe Mason and Don and Denise Mason along with her beloved nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces.

Linda is the granddaughter of Oscar and Dorothy Smith (Brown) and Clifford and Averil Mason.  She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents Max and Jean Mason, her grandparents; Clifford and Averil Mason and her grandpa Oscar Smith.
