Obituary of Carl Campbell

Carl Louis Campbell, age 19, was born July 29, 1986 in San Diego, CA, to Ruben and Nancy Campbell. He moved to Limon when he was 9 years old, where he attended and graduated Limon Schools in 2005. Carl passed away on April 9th, 2006 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Carl was involved in numerous activities at school. He was a member of the FFA Club in 2003 and 2004. He was all-area punter in 2003, an All-State defensive back in 2004 on the Limon High School 2003 and 2004 State Football Championship teams. Carl was a State Qualifier in the triple jump in 2004. Carl was a member of the First Baptist Church and youth group. He had traveled to Lame Deer, Montana in the summer of 2004 on a mission trip to an Indian reservation. Carl was loved by all who knew him. His humor, his smile and his laughter will be missed by all. Carl was preceded in death by his maternal great grandfather, Alex Kuhnel. He is survived by his mother Nancy Palmer of Chula Visa, CA , his father, Ruben and stepmother, Terri Campbell of Limon, CO, Two brothers Jeremy Lopez of Prague, Czech Republic, Phillip Palmer, of Chula Visa, CA and sister, Ashley Campbell of Limon, CO and Grandparents Louis Campbell of San Angelo, TX, Socorro Garcia of Ft. Stockton, TX, Ken and Miriam Barton of Olney Springs, CO. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Services were held at the Christenson-Newsom Activities Building, Monday April 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor’s Frank & Linda Hoover, officiating. Burial followed in the Pershing Memorial Cemetery in Limon. Visitation was held Sunday April 16, 2006 from 2-7 p.m. at the Love Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to the Carl Campbell Memorial Fund in Care of Equitable Savings and Loan P.O. Box 100 Limon, Colorado 80828.
